DIRECTOR – Michael Angelo
Michael Angelo began his career independently directing and producing a short documentary about the Therapon Association which provided housing and care for autistic children and adults, while working in the camera department and completing a Broadcasting degree at San Francisco State University. In college he worked a second job as a researcher for THX Lucasfilm gaining him access to the infamous Industrial Light and Magic where he caught the VFX bug leading to a long career in film and television. After graduation he became an online editor, colorist and visual effects artist working many years with directors of features, commercials and documentaries, including well known documentarist Werner Herzog. CREATIVE PRODUCER – Keirda Bahruth
Our creative producer and award-winning filmmaker in her own right Keirda Bahruth produced and directed the 2011 documentary SXSW premiere “Bob and The Monster,” about punk rock recovery guru Bob Forrest. In 2015 she directed “Hardcore Devo Live”, a film that documented art rock heroes, Devo, commercially released in 2015 and acquired for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame library in 2016. She also produced the highly acclaimed documentary “We Live In Public,” which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2009, received a theatrical release and was acquired by MoMA. Keirda has also directed and produced shows for Google, Dreamworks, CBS, NBC/Universal, Discovery Channel, E!, Fox, MTV as well as spending three full seasons at Saturday Night Live as a directors assistant early. She is currently in development on a feature documentary titled, Back to Back, that takes a deep and compassionate look at dominant culture feminism and the effect it has on social progress. IMDB
PRODUCER – Gretchen Landau
For over a decade Gretchen Landau was a media sales and marketing strategist for pop culture giants Disney, ABC and ESPN. Landau recently served as production supervisor for Academy Award winner, Francis Ford Coppola’s experimental film workshop, Distant Vision and is producing the new documentary “Feeling Seen” with director Beth Ryne. Her producing credits include the Netflix Original documentary, “Feminists: What were they thinking?”, “FOLK”, directed by Sara Terry and a series of award winning short films with producing partners Mindy Cohn and Michael Allen. Landau is developing several new film and television projects with director Christopher N Rowley (Bonneville, Molly Moon) for their production company, Drop of Water Entertainment and has successfully run fundraising campaigns for several documentary films including “Raising Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins” (World Premiere @Sundance 2019) and “Who Will Write Our History.” IMDB
EDITOR- Terry Kelley
Terry has a Master”s Degree in Art (painting) from California Institute of the Arts, and was trained in editing by two academy award winning editors: Neil Travis (Oscar for “Dancing with Wolves”) and Thomas Stanford (Oscar for “West Side Story”). He has developed an outstanding, extremely versatile skill set, having edited network television, studio feature films, independent features, documentaries, cable television series and mini-series, commercials, industrials and content for the web. Terry has an Emmy for Contribution in Editing on the HBO movie “And The Band Played On”. He also recently received an ACE Eddie Award: Best One-hour Drama for Non-commercial Television for an episode of “Homeland”, and went on to edit “Black Sails” for Michael Bay and Starz Entertainment. He is currently editing “The Magicians” for Universal Cable Productions. IMDB
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER- Alex Wilder
Alex Wilder, a writer, producer, and editor, was born and raised in Los Angeles. Alex was bit by the creativity bug early, writing stories and making movies with the family camcorder since he was 5. After pursuing a brief career in finance, Alex quickly realizing something was missing and moved home to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of storytelling through the art of filmmaking. He transitioned smoothly, quickly becoming an Associate Producer and 1st Assistant Editor for the Independent Documentary, A DocumenTree. He later joined the comedy series, Outta Pocket as a Producer and Editor, the short film, Colors of Sankofa as Lead Editor and Post Production Supervisor, and the upcoming comedy series Happyness, as a Producer and 1st Assistant Director. Though Alex continues to work on his Independent passions, he currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Producer of Madam Secretary. Alex attended Georgetown University and studied International Politics at the Edmund A Walsh School of Foreign Service.
PRODUCTION COORDINATOR – Isabel Cespedes
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Isabel Cespedes is a first generation Mexican-American and first generation college student. While taking a film course at Santa Monica College she was recruited as an intern by documentary filmmaker and visual effects artist Michael Angelo to work on the documentary film “A DocumenTree”. Michael Angelo trained Isabel on how to build a feature film pipeline, producing, editing, visual effects and the exploratory research necessary to documentary storytelling. At 18 years old, Isabel learned how to organize shoots, train new interns and operate softwares such as Final Cut Pro and Photoshop. In time she was given more responsibilities and her role shifted to a paid staff assistant editor and production coordinator. Isabel is now working with “A DocumenTree” senior producers Keirda Bahruth and Gretchen Landau. Isabel is also attached to numerous student films at Cal State University Northridge such as Olive (Producer), CASH (Production Design & Script Supervisor), and most recently she is one of the producers for the CSUN Senior Thesis film “I Will Become Me”. Isabel is a certified Avid Media Composer editor, she is still completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Cal State University Northridge under the Film Production major with an emphasis in editing.
